Traffic Lights and Bike Path Burdekin Parade
We have still not been able to get a commitment that the traffic lights including pedestrian controls will be constructed in the near future. The last Vic Roads report was that, earlier in the year Vic Roads provided comments to the developer on issues (design etc) that must be addressed. At this stage, there has been no response from the developer. Until these issues are addressed the project remains on hold. However council have commenced construction of the bike path so our most sincere thanks to them. This will of course encourage pedestrian and cyclist use with the major risk of an accident if the pedestrian traffic signals are not installed at Governor/Burdekin. Councillor Donna Bauer has promised to chase this project along however we are so near and yet so far from a safe access to Braeside Park.
