Primary School Update
One of the fantastic developments in our school over the last year or so has been the expansion of our senior student leadership program. We have over seventy of our students responsible for initiatives in our school. These include Student Council, sport, performing arts, school environment etc. Each area has four students and they meet weekly to evaluate their progress and plan future activities. For example our Community Fundraising Leaders supported the local RSL Sub Branch with their Anzac Day appeal and the school raised over $500.00. It is wonderful to see each student's enthusiasm and dedication to their role.
At our recent Community Assembly we had representatives from Ritchies IGA present a plaque acknowledging the efforts of our school community with their Community Benefit program. Since our school has opened the program has generated $190,000 for the school which is a fantastic effort.
All children will be involved with a whole school production during August at the Frankston Cultural Centre titled ‘The Lost Boys'. The production will be over two nights and will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents of our students.
Works have begun on the multi - purpose facility funded under the Federal Government Economic Stimulus program. This work is being overseen by the Victorian Department of Education, not the school. It has caused us some inconvenience however the completed structure will be an asset for our school. It should be finished during Term 4.
In May we conducted tours of the school for prospective parents and children.
We are now taking enrolments for 2011 and if you missed out contact the office on 95870877 or pop in and collect an information folder.
